The IPAF harness use and inspection training course consists of both theory and practical instruction:
- Health and safety at work legislation and regulations
- Identifying all types of arrest and restraint equipment
- Selecting fall arrest and restraint equipment
- Traceability
- CE markings
- Correct fitting of harnesses
- Shock absorbing lanyards and fall arrest blocks
- Anchor points and connectors
- Care, storage and maintenance of equipment
- Inspection of harness per everyone
- Manufacturers instruction manual MIM and associated paperwork
- Rescue provision
Objectives
The IPAF Harness use and inspection training course is designed for candidates who use, supervise or manage the use of MEWPS (mobile elevating work platforms) and are required to inspect, select and use appropriate lanyards and safety harnesses. IPAF (The International Powered Access Federation) is the industry recognised body and authority for powered access equipment and for Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPS) This includes scissor lifts, cherry pickers and access platforms including PAV's (push around verticals).

IPAF certificate will be issued on completion of course.
